Threads Hits 275 Million Monthly Users

Meta’s Threads is on a roll. The social platform just crossed 275 million monthly active users (MAUs), according to Adam Mosseri, the head of both Threads and Instagram. He shared the news on Sunday, thanking users and hinting at future improvements. “There’s a lot more to do, and plenty of things to fix, but there’s something exciting about this place,” Mosseri said.

The Rapid Climb Since Launch
Since its launch in July 2023, Threads has picked up steam, especially from former X (formerly Twitter) users who left the platform after Elon Musk took over. The growth numbers are impressive: 150 million MAUs in April, 200 million by August, and now, 275 million in just three more months. during the company’s Q3 2024 post-results conference call Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also shared that Threads sees a million new sign-ups daily, signaling a positive trajectory for user acquisition.

Still a Few Speed Bumps
Despite the rapid user growth, Threads isn’t without its hiccups. Users have expressed frustration over moderation and content management issues, which Meta will need to address as it scales. But with momentum on their side, the company is likely focused on building a smoother experience and keeping that growth curve pointed up.
