What’s Happening?
Jetpad, a crypto startup founded in Anambra State,Southeast Nigeria, has received a $75,000 grant from the Stellar Community Fund to expand its latest innovation – the Jetpad Smart Wallet. This funding supports Jetpad’s broader mission to simplify crypto access across Africa by delivering user-friendly blockchain products tailored for everyday users. Unlike traditional wallets that require managing seed phrases or private keys, the Jetpad Smart Wallet uses account abstraction, enabling users to create wallets via fingerprint, face ID, social logins, or email. “We’ve always focused on solving real problems with real products. The Smart Wallet is an evolution of that journey,” said Jetpad founder Valentine Blaze
Jetpad and Stellar: Partnering to Simplify Crypto Access
Jetpad’s Smart Wallet is designed to tackle persistent user experience challenges in crypto, offering features such as gasless transactions, cross-chain swaps, utility bill payments with crypto, and 24/7 fiat deposit and withdrawal services at competitive rates across multiple African countries. This aligns closely with Stellar’s mission to provide open financial access. Blaze emphasized, “Stellar is built for finance, and their infrastructure fits perfectly with what we’re building. We’re thrilled to receive support from the Stellar Community Fund.” The partnership leverages Stellar’s blockchain infrastructure to enhance Jetpad’s product capabilities and reach.
Navigating Challenges and Looking Ahead
Operating as a remote-first startup, Jetpad has faced challenges common in Nigeria’s Southeast, including limited access to talent, electricity, and stable internet. However, Blaze credits growing support from communities like Anambra Techies and the Anambra Startup Network for helping bridge many of these gaps. With its Stellar-powered MVP launching in the coming months, Jetpad plans to focus on continuous product improvements and user feedback. While further fundraising is anticipated, the team is prioritizing stability and value creation. “Our mission remains the same – to bring crypto to the masses in a way that’s truly easy to use,” Blaze added.
